Spot
On ! David A. Dodson When on the water after dark, you simply can't have too much light. Unfortunately, bringing an expensive, high performance lamp on a boat is a risky scenario indeed; one poorly timed jolt and Davey Jones has a new toy. And cheap flashlights that you don't mind going overboard are usually useless in illuminating anything more than five feet away. Luckily, Stanley Tools has provided a beacon in the night with their Waterproof Spotlight. The big idea: provide a spotlight that can cut the darkness all the way back to shore and withstand being submerged in water up to six feet deep. But does their claim hold water? We tested Stanley's Waterproof Spotlight and were amazed at what we saw. First of all, at up to 200 lumens, it is exactly the kind of light you are going to want to have when scanning around the boat or off of the pier. The 5 watt LED bulb does a fantastic job of cutting the dark, and with a ten hour runtime per charge, it should just about get you from dusk to dawn. The Waterproof Spotlight is also not afraid to take the occasional dip. I tossed mine off the pier and it lazily settled on the surface of the water with the light pointing up for easy location and rescue. It can also withstand falls up to ten feet on land if you don't happen to have any water nearby in which to throw it. Stanley's Waterproof Spotlight also features a built-in 7.2V NiMH rechargeable battery, a super comfortable rubber bezel and handle, carrying lanyard and a high/low dimmer switch to extend runtime. It also comes with both AC and DC chargers, so you are never without the means to juice it up. The bottom line is the Waterproof Spotlight from
