Papa's Got a Brand New Bag

ViewOnline Staff You wish

Road Gear's magnetic sports tank bag is a great addition for any rider, offering durable construction and immense practical use. The bag is made of durable cordura for easy cleaning and superior strength to nylon or cotton bags, and all zippers are ykk, a time tested, long-lasting product.

Features include one large interior pocket as well as two exterior side pockets, ribbed to allow expansion, and a map pocket. The map pocket is removeable and has a draw string to double as a carry along tote. All Velcro pockets feature tough industrial strength Velcro, no lightweight stuff to fly open as you're cruising. Seven powerful magnets attach the bag firmly to the tank and the underside is lined with antiskid Toughtek.

Well, enough of the technical blah-blahing. Being a bartender, I actually carry a fairly large amount of stuff to work. Road Gear's magnetic sports tank bag easily fits my mixing cup, flashlight, recipe box (for drinks, not those pansy brownie recipes!), cell phone, assorted pens and a calculator along with my wallet, keys and the optional rain cover (and I'm sure there's a kitchen sink in there somewhere). All that and more without unzipping the bottom to expand the height off the bag. Even continuous high speeds and sharp corners don't disturb the powerful magnetic grip of this little beauty.

With no faring on my bike, the wind is hitting it dead on and still the bag holds. I was hoping for some rain to try out the rain cover but no luck there so it was off to the carwash where, after securing the rain cover and saying a little prayer that my things wouldn't be ruined by water damage, I proceeded to blast it with a high pressure rinse. When I ran out of quarters and pulled the cover off I was pleasantly surprised to find the contents of the bag bone dry.

In short if you want a quality tank bag at a reasonable price go visit their website at www.roadgear.com or give them a call at 1-800-854-4327. $109.90 on their web site.

Oh, and one more thing -- be sure and pick up the rain cover.

Thanks to Mansoor Shafi and the folks at Road Gear for giving us the opportunity to try out this great little bag.
