Don't you hate it when you have to get your game on and every TV in the house is being used? Well those fine folks at Pelican Accessories feel your pain, and to ease it they came out with the Universal VGA Box, a handy gadget that lets you hook up any gaming system to your computer. But the VGA Box doesn't stop there; you can also hook up any VCR, DVD player, VCD player, camcorder, or anything with AV or S-Video hookups right to your computer monitor.

The Universal VGA Box connects to your monitor and plugs into any VGA card and acts as a passthrough between them. External speakers can be connected to an earphone jack on the back of the box. Just hook up any AV source to your PC and switch between them using the "PC/Video" and "Source" buttons. And because it utilizes 24-bit true color (16.7 million colors,) game and video resolution is four times that of a regular TV.

One thing to bear in mind however is that you might have problems if you have an LCD monitor. There seems to be a conflict with the resolution compatibility on some flat screens. It's something to consider.

The Universal VGA Box is a brilliant idea that works ten times as well as hoped. Once you've played games this way, you may never go back to TV again. It comes with one VGA Box with removable stand, one AC adapter, one RGB cable, an audio cable and instructions. For about fifty dollars you can get one wherever games are sold.
