Pelican's Predator Shows Its Chops

Pelican's Predator Wireless Controller!
Predator Wireless Controller

Over the years, many have tried to make the ideal wireless controller for the PS2. Infrared systems were OK, but could be interrupted too easily: very frustrating. 900 MHz models were better, but still not entirely reliable and some experienced lag time. Just when PS2 owners' hopes were about to wither on the vine, along comes the Predator Wireless from Pelican Accessories and breaks our bonds. Using state of the art RF (radio frequency) technology, a dual RF and infrared receiver, and an improved button layout, the Predator promises a new era in gaming freedom.

But how does it measure up? Like Wilt the Stilt. Just like we've seen in Pelican's Eclipse and G3 Wireless, the Predator's RF system delivers simply incredible range. Just like its GameCube and Xbox cousins, the Predator had no problems penetrating the neighbor's house and seventy-five feet of lawn and trees to deliver perfect reception to our PS2… way impressive. The combination of a new L2 and R2 button layout and a satin coating also makes the Predator one of the most comfortable and intuitive controllers on the market.

Another bonus is the dual receiver. Not only does it pick up the Predator's eight channel (four channels on two separate bands) RF signal, but its built in infrared sensor is also compatible with any Sony or Pelican wireless DVD remote control for the PS2. With a battery life of about 200 hours with the rumble off (120 hours with it on), the Predator is also not a big eater when it comes to batteries.

Simply put, your PlayStation 2 is incomplete without this controller. The consideration and ingenuity that went into designing the Predator Wireless is beyond remarkable. For about forty dollars you get the Predator Wireless, the dual RF and Infrared Receiver, and two AA batteries. Pick one up just about anywhere games are sold or online at one of the dealers listed at www.PelicanPerformance.com.
