Pelican's G3 Wireless Controller!
G3 Wireless Conrtoller

The wireless controller has always been the Holy Grail of the gaming industry. Several attempts have been made, but none have really worked out to any great degree. That is why it is such a pleasure to announce that someone has finally gotten it right, and Pelican Accessories' G3 Wireless Controller for the GameCube flat out nails it.

Gone are the days when wireless meant an infrared beam that required direct line of sight to the console. The G3 Wireless uses a radio frequency that boasts a fifty-foot range that works regardless of barriers, corners, or line of sight. Add the fact that it does this without sacrificing a rumble feature, and you can see what's causing all the ruckus.

But does it work? Brother, you simply have to see it to believe it. Fifty hours into its battery life we were controlling Mario flawlessly…from two houses away! Literally, the tester was in another house half a block away. The range on this thing is simply incredible.

Each G3 Wireless controller comes with an RF receiver that plugs into a controller port and draws power from the console. The controller has four channels to choose from (one for each controller port on the GameCube) and two frequency bands if additional channels are needed. Besides the wireless feature, all the standard GameCube buttons, bumpers and analog sticks are present with a programmable turbo button thrown in for fun. The G3 Wireless can run for about one hundred hours on two AA batteries (included) with the rumble off, and for about half that with the rumble on.

Bottom line: if you have a GameCube, you must have the G3 Wireless; the difference is just that profound. For about thirty-five bucks, you can get one just about anywhere games are sold, or online at one of the retailers listed at www.PelicanPerformance.com.
