Cut
The Chord I love Xbox live. There's nothing like barking orders to your squad in Black Arrow or talking trash after sticking some loser in Madden. I don't, however, like looking like a Backstreet Boy in the dorky headset. I'm also not fond of being physically tied to my controller when the gaming starts getting heated, but what can any of us do about it? Nyko Technologies hears your woes and finally lets you cut the chord with their SpeakerCom loudspeaker/microphone for Xbox Live. A cinch to install, simply pop your Xbox Live Adapter into the SpeakerCom and plug the SpeakerCom into any Xbox controller with two expansion ports. No batteries, wires or software are required. And since the body is spring-loaded for an adjustable fit, the SpeakerCom is guaranteed to fit any first or third party dual-expansion controller. But does it truly give you freedom? Like BraveHeart. The built in loudspeaker provides crisp, clear sound so you won't miss a word of the conversation. When you're finally ready to make your presence known, simply tap one of the two conveniently located talk buttons on either side of the unit to activate the microphone. The mike stays muted until you turn it on; this is especially handy when you have a room full of people discussing strategy and you want to keep it to yourself. The volume is completely adjustable by using the volume dial on the Xbox Live Adapter, just like with the headset. The SpeakerCom also comes equipped with a mute button for when you need a little "me-time". The only real drawback is that the microphone and speaker won't work at the same time, so you could miss out on important dialogue when you talk, sort of like a walkie-talkie or old speakerphone. Overall, the SpeakerCom is an excellent alternative
when you're tired of looking like you're late for your shift at the drive-thru
when you play Counter Strike. Its lightweight and convenient design and
clear sound make the SpeakerCom an ideal addition to your Xbox Live arsenal.
For about twenty five bucks you can get one wherever games are sold or
online at one of the dealers located at Nyko.com.
