Louisville Slugger's Response XXL Balanced Bat! The Response XXL Balanced Bat

The Louisville Slugger has been synonymous with baseball for over one hundred years; face it, when someone says "baseball bat", you automatically think about the Louisville Slugger. A company doesn't reach icon status by putting out junk, they do it by consistently manufacturing the very best baseball equipment on the market year after year. These guys are proud of this tradition and plan to carry it forward with their Response XXL line of softball bats. What's so special about these sticks? Think old-world craftsmanship with space age materials. By taking the proven double wall design and making the inner and outer shell out of a GEN1X and Scandium alloy, you have one of the lightest, strongest and most responsive bats on the market.

In addition to the dual GEN1X-Scandium shells, the Response XXL also features a gigantic sweet spot, optional end loaded or balanced models for your particular swing, and a power contour design with a fully polished, anodized finish. It also comes with an ultra thin 7/8-inch handle with a cushioned, synthetic grip for better palm traction and durability. And, of course, it is ASA certified.

Louisville Slugger's Response XXL End Loaded Bat! The Response XXL End Loaded Bat

That's all good information, but nothing can prepare you for the way that it hits. We tested both a 27oz, 34-inch balanced model and 28oz, 34-inch end loaded model and were amazed by the results. Even off center hits felt good and reacted powerfully. Both bats practically swung themselves and connected with a smooth and solid ping. These bats really shine in terms of control and power. If you're already happy with the way that you hit the ball, then the Response XXL will make you a surgeon. If, however, you feel that your offense needs some work, then it's one of the most forgiving bats on the market. And it doesn't hurt that both models are quite easy on the eyes.

Bottom line is that the Response XXL from Louisville Slugger is a smart buy for any batter at any level of play. Rookies will love the forgiveness, ringers will love the power and control. Available in 34-inch length and 26-30oz weights in balanced, and 34-inch length and 26, 27, 28, and 30oz weights in end loaded, the Response XXL runs about two hundred dollars and can be picked up wherever sporting equipment is sold.
