Hoss
Sense The right glove is possibly the most important investment you can make in your softball game. Expensive bats are great, but towards the end of the game if you can't stop the ball and get it to where it needs to be in a timely fashion, even a good lead can dwindle away in a hurry. The hallmarks of a great glove are comfort, durability, and performance (good looks don't hurt either). Based on these criteria, those sporting-good savants at Louisville Slugger have come up with one of the best ball-stoppers on the market with their Hoss line of gloves. Made from genuine oil-treated, steer hide leather with dye-through lacing, the Hoss is super tough, yet practically game-ready right out of the box. The Hoss also features Louisville Slugger's patented Bruise-gard padding technology in the palm and fingers, so you can get in front of the hardest drives without fear. Sounds great, but does it play? Like Hendrix. We tested a fourteen-inch outfielder's glove and were quite impressed. It took very little time to break in, and with the Velcro strap and closed back the fit was right on. The joint friendly Bruise-gard padding did an excellent job of taking the sting out of the ball, which not only worked out well during the game, but was also truly appreciated the next morning. The Coolmax lining admirably performed the task of pulling the sweat off of the skin, ensuring inning after inning of cool, dry play. Also worth mentioning is the classically beautiful look of the glove. With a light wheat colored body and dark walnut bindings, the Hoss catches the eye as effortlessly as it catches the ball. Bottom line is if you're looking to improve your field game, whether
you're an experienced player or just starting out, you need to get your
hand in a Hoss. It feels good, looks good and plays good; plus with the
Louisville Slugger logo, you know that the Hoss is built to last. For
about seventy dollars you can pick one up at your local sporting goods
store or online at TheSportsAuthority.com.
