Midnight
Cowboy
When Kershaw Knives first introduced their Leek folding knife to the public, they knew they had a winner. It was the perfect size, sharp, comfortable to hold, easy to open, strong and held an edge like nobody's business. And, to no one's surprise, it was and remains today a wildly popular knife. Which is why it does come as a surprise that Kershaw has re-released the Leek with a new Midnight Black tungsten DLC finish. Why tinker with a winning formula? Because it makes the knife even better, that's why. The DLC (Diamond Like Coating) on the handle and blade provide a low friction, corrosion resistant, handsome Midnight Black matte finish. Add that to the Leek's list of attributes and you truly have a remarkable piece of cutlery. The Leek's blade is made from the finest 440A stainless steel. This means it's super strong (55-57 on the Rockwell Hardness Scale) and can retain an edge forever. The blade measures in at 3 inches and comes razor sharp from the factory. Constructed out of 410 stainless steel, the Leek's 4-inch handle is extremely light and formed to fit the user's hand perfectly. Along with a lanyard hole, the handle also sports a removable/reversible belt clip that can be turned 180 degrees on the handle for tip-up or tip-down toting. Like all of Ken Onion's creations, the Leek also comes equipped with Kershaw's Speed Safe assisted opening system. A simple push on the thumb stud (left of right handed) sends the blade easily into the open position where it locks into place for safe handling. Additionally, the Leek can be opened using the Index Finger Opening System, where simply pushing back on the Index Opening Knob on the spine of the handle over the pivot of the blade activates the Speed Safe System. Once open, the Index Opening Knob also functions as a finger guard. An effortless nudge of the liner-locking tab allows the blade to fold back into the handle for future use. Bottom line is if you can carry a knife,
it needs to be Kershaw's Leek. It is by far the safest, sharpest, most
comfortable and easiest knife to use. The Leek comes in several styles
and is available in serrated and smooth edges. For about eighty dollars
you can pick one up wherever knives are sold or online at one of the retailers
located at www.KershawKnives.com. |
