GameShark
2 Makes Chum out of Latest Games Having trouble getting past that one unbeatable level boss? Don't want to wait until you beat the game to unlock hidden characters, weapons or bonus missions? Well the fine folks who helped with these problems in the past have come through once again for PlayStation 2 owners. The GameShark 2 does for the PS2 what the original did for the PlayStation, N64, Gameboy, Nintendo and just about every other gaming console up till now. Like its ancestors, the GameShark 2 is a video game enhancer, a code-breaking device that unlocks certain abilities and features in game programs for the PS2. By using the GameShark 2 players give characters traits like invincibility, unlimited ammo or lives, super weapons and much, much more. The GameShark 2 is completely menu driven. Codes are accessed through a screen interface driven by a CD inserted into your PS2. Through this menu screen, users are able to activate hundreds of codes preloaded onto the PS2 interface CD. Future codes can later be added as they become available. In addition to the PS2 CD, an extra interface CD containing over 6,000 codes for PS1 games is also included (Unfortunately, additional PS1 codes can't be loaded, but most titles are covered anyway). The menu itself on both CDs is great looking and very easy to use. Just start your system with the appropriate GameShark 2 CD in the machine and the GameShark 2 card in the memory slot. From there you can pick your game from a list and activate the available codes, or enter new codes. The system even lets you add new titles as they come out and start your own code list (their website, GameShark.com, has quite the selection). After you pick the codes that you want on the game that you want, simply swap the menu CD for the game disk and enjoy the ride. The only drawback is that you can't add new codes or titles for old PlayStation 1 games. Though the codes provided on the PS1 disk are quite extensive, some good ones are noticeably absent. Despite its limitations on PS1 games, the GameShark 2 really does take PS2 games to another level entirely. It's available now and runs about forty bucks (less than the price of a PS2 game). Get yours now and start playing your PS2 better than it was meant to be. Can be bought online at: |
